Query Prince Planet? |
Hi all,
This website:
http://www.publicdomainmotionpictures.com/claims that "Prince Planet" tv series is PD. Does anyone know if that's true? If it is I have quite a lot of episodes I can upload (not sure if they should go here or in animation).
Also, if all British TV shows made prior to 1958 are PD, I have all of "H.G.Wells' The Invisible Man", which think are brilliant. Season 1 is copyrighted 1957 and seaon 2, 1958. Is anyone interested in these?
I'll wait for a response before uploading as someone out there may have greater knowledge than me!

"Prince Planet" is debatable it will however it "may" be uploadable starting 2016 since TV shows are not films and have muiltible artists involved, and Wikipedia says that works for which a single auther cannot be established have 50 years of copyright in japan. However, it is in fact true that all pre-1958 british TV broadcasts are PD, so please upload ANYTHING you have of that!

As long as they were made before 1958, I can't wait!
EDIT: Are you sure they are from 1957? IMDb and Wikipedia say they are from 1958 and won't be PD till next year.

Are we talking about production dates or transmission dates? On season 1 there is a copyright 1957 notice at the end of each episode. These were transmitted September to December 1958, though.
Wiki is often wrong. Dario Argento's 'Suspiria' is listed as 1976 on all european filmographies but 1977 on any US ones.
I'll hold off till the new year if necessary (but are the copyright holders going to quibble over 3 months of possible revenue loss?)
